Lots of sci-fi is quite grim things. You will find interplanetary wars. There are fascist societies with evil overlords. There exists Dying and deception and so forth. But it really’s not all doom and gloom. The evidence will be the beloved (and often adapted) series of books underneath the blanket identify The Hitchhiker’s Manual on the Galaxy
